MAGPIE

The deal, in plain language.

Who we are

Magpie is made by Undefined Ventures OÜ, an Estonian company (details at the bottom). By using Magpie — the browser extension, magpie.ee, or a paid plan — you agree to these terms.

The free extension

The Magpie extension is free, works entirely on your machine, and needs no account. It is provided as-is; it isn't a trial, and these terms never require you to pay to keep using it. Whatever happens to your subscription, account, or to us, the extension and your local data keep working.

Your account

Paid features need an account (email code or Google sign-in). Keep access to your email — it is how your account is secured. You're responsible for what happens under your account, and it's yours alone; one person per account.

Paid plans

Magpie Plus adds two-way sync, the web app, and cloud storage (10 GB). Magpie Pro adds more storage (100 GB) and, as it ships, Discovery. Details and prices are on the pricing section; features may grow over time without notice, and fair-use limits apply to server-side processing so one account can't degrade the service for everyone else.

Billing, taxes and refunds — Stripe

Paid plans are sold by Stripe as merchant of record: Stripe handles the checkout, charges your payment method, calculates and remits VAT/sales tax, and issues invoices. Displayed prices are tax-inclusive where required. For refunds, email hey@undefined.ee — we're reasonable about it, and nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights (including EU consumer withdrawal rights).

Your content

What you collect is yours. By syncing you give us the limited license needed to store, copy, and process your content solely to operate the service for you — nothing more. We claim no ownership and won't use your collection for anything else, including training models.

You're responsible for what you collect and store: it must be lawful for you to keep, and personal use of things you clip from the web is on you to judge. If you believe content stored through Magpie infringes your rights, email hey@undefined.ee and we'll act promptly.

Acceptable use

Don't use Magpie's cloud to store or distribute unlawful content; don't abuse the service (reselling storage, scripted bulk dumping, probing our infrastructure, circumventing limits). Technical rate limits exist to protect the service, not to meter you. If abuse forces our hand we may suspend an account — with notice where practicable, and never touching your local data.

If your plan ends

Your cloud copy goes read-only: browsing and downloading keep working, new uploads stop. We keep it for 12 months, with reminders before deletion. Your local data is always intact — the cloud is a copy, not a cage. You can also export everything as ordinary files at any time, or delete your account (and every byte we hold) yourself.

Disclaimers and liability

Magpie is provided "as is", without warranties beyond those the law requires. We work to keep the service available and your synced data safe (and your local copy is your ultimate safety net), but we can't promise uninterrupted service. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims connected to the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or your statutory consumer rights.

Changes and ending things

We may update these terms as the product evolves; material changes will be announced on this page and, for account holders, by email — continued use after that means acceptance. You can stop using Magpie or delete your account at any time. We may close the service or an account where these terms are broken; if we ever discontinued the paid service, you'd get notice, your export, and a refund of any unused period.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Estonian law. If you're a consumer, you keep the protections of your home country's mandatory consumer law, and you can bring disputes in your local courts.
