Your whole collection in one calm place: boards with cover images and their own color palettes, tags, notes, and search. Every image’s palette is read on your machine with plain color math — browse by color, filter a board by its own hues, sort a grid into a rainbow. You never file anything twice, because finding replaces filing.
Turn on the optional AI helper and Magpie also titles your captures, reads the text inside your screenshots, suggests tags, and matches searches by meaning. Off by default; bring your own key, or let a paid plan handle it.

Private, verifiably.
Your boards are files on your machine. Flip one switch and Magpie mirrors every board into a real folder you choose — one subfolder per board, images as ordinary image files, snippets as markdown. Uninstall Magpie and they’re still there. That’s not a privacy policy — it’s an architecture. If you choose to sync, your clips travel encrypted and your local copy remains the source of truth.

Do I need an account?
No. The free product is the whole collector and never asks you to sign in. An account exists for one reason: paid sync.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Capture, browse, search, export — it’s all on your machine. Sync and the AI helper are the only features that touch the network, and both are off until you turn them on.
What leaves my device?
Nothing, unless you turn something on. The baseline is fetching an image’s bytes when you clip one and loading link-card previews. Turn on AI and the item being processed is sent — a small thumbnail or the snippet text, never your browsing. Sign in and sync, and your boards travel to our servers so your other devices can pull them. Every claim is checkable in DevTools.
What does Plus actually add?
Reach, not features. The free collector is complete and stays that way. Plus keeps your boards in step across your devices, opens them at magpie.ee from any browser, and runs the AI helper on our key instead of yours. Cancel, and everything keeps working locally with every file in place.
How much fits — and what if I fill it?
Plus holds around 15,000 clips, Pro around 150,000 — enough that most collectors never think about it. If you do reach the edge, nothing is deleted and nothing is locked: everything you’ve caught stays browsable and searchable, and only new uploads pause until you’re under the line again. The same holds if you move from Pro down to Plus. Local is never metered — collect as much as your disk allows, free, forever.
What happens if I cancel?
Your files stay on your machine — local is always the source of truth. Your cloud copy goes read-only: browsing and pulling keep working, and we keep it for twelve months in case you come back.
Can I get everything out?
Always. Export the whole collection as a zip, mirror your boards to real files on disk, or turn a board into a single self-contained moodboard page. Imports restore a zip anywhere — including a fresh install.

Chrome today — Magpie lives in Chrome’s side panel. Other Chromium browsers with side-panel support may work, but Chrome is what we test.
